Donations to help the Roncesvalles community buy and install a commemoration bench for Tony

October 27, 2011

Until Saturday, the TD Canada Trust branch (one block south of Howard Park Ave) is accepting donations. If we end up with more money than we require for the bench,  the surplus will be used in a fashion acceptable to Tony’s family and to the volunteers involved in the ongoing commemorative effort. [Ed Lamb is in charge of donations; if you want his contact information, please email me at philipATsternthinking.com.

“So Sharon came by the other day like she said in that email. You know, it’s maybe ten years since I’ve seen her.  She gave this book of photos of our family. You should see the one where I’m with my Mom. I’ll get it for you. We’ll even put some in the blog.”

PHILIP
“She’s your younger sister, right?”

TONY
“Yup. I was so happy she came by. I haven’t seen her for ten years almost.”

PHILIP
“You know it’s a holiday on Monday?”

TONY
“Yeah, that’s that new holiday, Family Day, isn’t it?

PHILIP
“Ooops. Sorry. I shouldn’t have mentioned it.”

TONY
“Don’t worry. It’s not like I don’t think about it.”

TONY
“Phil, sorry for calling so late. I know you got the family. Do you have twenty bucks that you could lend me?  You know I wouldn’t phone you otherwise but they say it’s going down to minus 17 tonight. And I’ve gotta get a bed.”

PHILIP
“OK. Whatever. You’ll get it back to me tomorrow? Never mind. It’s Christmas. Come over.”

TONY
“Five minutes. I’ll be over in five minutes.”

PHILIP
“Where are you?”

TONY
“On Ronces. You know, around Geoffrey. I’ll be there in five minutes.”

PHILIP
“OK, five minutes. I’ve got some bananas for you here I think. Maybe something else too. I’ll  look.”

TONY
“I’ll be there in five minutes.”

PHILIP
“OK, bye.”

TONY
“Bye.”
