PHILIP
Are you voting?
TONY
“No but I’d vote for that Dion guy from the Liberals but I can’t vote since I don’t have an address.”
PHILIP
“Harper’s gotta go.”
TONY
“You know, he thinks homeless people should just get off their ass and get a job. He doesn’t understand how it is on the street. He should be in our shoes for a year or two, if you know what I mean.”

As a shelter worker, Tony is right that voting this year was the the hardest to get homeless people to the polls because of the new ID restrictions.
However, I wish I had seen Tony yesterday so I could’ve told him that any shelter, community centre, or drop-in could’ve given him an attestation of residence form to use as an address at the poll station.
Any shelter can also use the pink forms (that are submitted to the City for per diem coverage) as ID if one doesn’t have it.
Dude, I wish I had seen Tony. I woulda set him up with everything he needed to vote.

A job is a job is a job.
Just because this (*) doesn’t like what Tony does, doesn’t actually mean that he hasn’t a ‘job’.
He doesn’t have to give him any money for what he does.
There’s quite a few politicians that I don’t like and I would rather not give them any money at all. I’d like to leave something in a politician’s hat and it wouldn’t be spare change, I can tell you.
